Shira Washington has 18 years of experience in higher education. Shira comes to MICHR from the College of Engineering where she spent 15 years collaborating with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to manage programs for graduate education, recruitment, communication, outreach, symposia, and alumni engagement. She is a life-long creative and strategist with industry experience in retail, health-care, media and entertainment, public affairs, and higher education. Shira is an alumna of the University of Michigan’s Residential College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. She also holds a Master of Communication Management degree from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
