Statistics from 32,000 Feet (Parachute Included): A Gentle Introduction to Data Analyses

  • Rachel Upjohn Building Garden Level Auditorium (map)

Have you forgotten most of your stats training? Never understood it in the first place? Do you skip over the statistics sections when reading a journal article? Do you wish you could converse more effectively about statistics with your study team?

This seminar is designed for study team members who desire a reintroduction to basic statistical concepts for clinically-focused research. Presented in plain English with many illustrations, this session will cover foundational statistical concepts, including p-value, effect size, confidence intervals, sample size and power, and some common statistical tests. Whatever your background, this gentle reintroduction will increase your comfort and confidence when it comes to statistics.

This session will be facilitated by Anna Kratz, PhD, Assistant Professor, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
