Applications Open for 2025 MICHR PreDoc T32 Translational Science Program
The MICHR predoctoral T32 translational science program is a research and career development training opportunity designed for students who are early in their PhD program or in a professional health degree program. The ideal candidate is completing their 1st or 2nd year PhD program; or a 3rd year health professions student. Students will learn the fundamentals of translational science and translational research through a mentored research project and UM courses.
Translational science is focused on understanding a scientific or operational principle that underlies a step of the translational process, with the goal of developing generalizable principles to accelerate translational research. We encourage applications that include work that addresses a common cause of inefficiency or failure in research projects at any stage of translation, with the goal of producing foundational knowledge that will ultimately improve health.
Health Professional Students take 1 – 2 years away from their main program to complete graduate level research courses AND to focus on a translational science project.
PhD Students will integrate four (4) required UM courses into their program and complete them over the span of 2 years.
Both audiences will receive:
$16,000 in tuition support per academic year
NIH Living Stipend (~ $27,144)
$6,000 in research, career development, travel monies
The application deadline is Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
