Are you preparing a career development grant application (such as NIH K or VA CDA) for submission in June or October 2026? Join the K Writing Workshop program for valuable peer critiques and feedback from senior faculty who are experienced in NIH study section thinking. During this introductory three-part workshop, participants will exchange drafts of their proposals, so please be prepared to share your own proposal draft during the course of the workshop.

The workshop takes place on Wednesday, February 4 (specific aims), February 25 (candidate background), and March 18 (career goals and objectives and career training plan), 2025, from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. via Zoom.

Registration is required, and a shortcode (U-M) or payment by credit card (non-U-M) is required for your registration. There is a fee of $156 for U-M registrants and $210 for others. (The workshop will be free for U-M registrants who attend all three sessions and provide a shortcode.)

The K Writing Workshop will also be offered in Summer 2026 during the day for those who are preparing competitive career development grant applications for October 2026 or February 2027 submission.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR) and the Institute for Health Policy and Innovation (IHPI).

Learn more or register here. The registration deadline is January 5, 2026.
