Tara Truax

Prior to joining MICHR, Tara spent several decades working as a Social Worker in behavioral health and homeless services, managing SAMHSA and HUD grants with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, as a Complex Care Manager at Michigan Medicine and most recently as a Patient Relations Specialist for a large outpatient medical group. Tara also serves as Vice President of the Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels board of directors. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Health Studies from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Health Services Administration from University of Michigan School of Public Health. Tara is passionate about improving and increasing access to resources and healthcare for vulnerable sectors of the population, particularly in rural communities and for older adults and people living with disabilities.
