MICHR Faculty Discusses COVID-19 Impact on Disadvantaged Communities

Susan Dorr Goold, MD, MHSA, MA, FACP, a core faculty member for MICHR’s Community Engagement program, has been featured in local and national media, including AP DetroitBioethics.netBridge MagazineClickOnDetroit, and The Hastings Center, where you can see or hear her thoughts about COVID-19’s impact on disadvantaged communities and how decisions about scarce resources are faced. She studies the allocation of scarce healthcare resources, especially the perspectives of patients and the public.

Her expertise is more important than ever with the pandemic taking a global toll. Goold is a professor of internal medicine and health management and policy, and she brings a variety of methods of inquiry, empirical and theoretical, to study "money medicine and ethics" and justice issues in health and healthcare.
