Seeking Experienced Study Coordinators to Mentor Undergraduates Interested in a Career in Study Coordination
The Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR) Clinical & Health Research Professional Pathways (CHRPP) Program is a 10-week experiential research training program for undergraduates from area colleges and universities who are interested in learning about study coordination as a career path. We are looking for research teams led by experienced study coordinators to serve as mentors for students in the upcoming summer 2025 program and provide them with an opportunity for MICHR-funded supervised research work experience.
Students will work full-time (40 hr/week) in a combination of classroom workshops (about 10 hours/week) and an immersive research team shadowing experience (about 30 hr/week) to build key research skills. The program will run from June 2 to August 8, 2025, with students hired as temporary employees of the University of Michigan and funded by MICHR. Most classroom workshops will be completed via remote learning (Zoom), while the experiential shadowing hours will take place in person with research teams like yours on the U-M Ann Arbor campus. Continued MICHR-funded part-time employment with your research team may be available beyond the program end date.
If you are interested in working with a student in this program, please fill out this form with your name, department, and a description of your research: https://umichumhs.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cuu8WdMeoMGMCnI
Filling out this form does not mean you are committing to work with a specific student. Rather, the information you provide will be used to match students admitted to the program with researchers who are interested in working with them. We cannot guarantee that you will have a student to work with, but we will do our best to match student interests with your research coordination goals and needs. You will be given a chance to interview students in March-April of 2025 before the matches are finalized.
We hope you will consider working with a student in the CHRPP Program this year. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to work with you.
