August 22, 2024

With the help of the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR) and their Behavioral Research Innovation and Support Program (BRISP), the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) for Social and Behavioral Research eLearning Course was recently updated.

What’s New?

  • Enhanced Regulatory Training: Updates on regulatory changes and reporting requirements.
  • Improved Accessibility: New features that ensure the learning experience is accessible to everyone.
  • New Module on Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Guidance on how to effectively involve communities to promote inclusivity and improve participant outcomes.

What is the GCP course?

In 2016, NIH issued a policy establishing an expectation that all NIH-funded investigators and staff involved in conducting, overseeing, or managing clinical trials should be trained in GCP and should refresh their training at least every three years.

Training in GCP principles helps investigators and clinical trial staff protect the rights, safety, and well-being of human subjects. It ensures that clinical trials are conducted according to approved plans with rigor and integrity and that the data collected is reliable.
