What is this resource?

The Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research and The University of Michigan Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation developed an innovative online course to introduce clinicians, researchers, and patient partners to the core elements of learning health systems. The course provides a clear definition of a learning health system, offers motivation as to why one would want to engage in LHS work, explains how LHS work differs from Quality Improvement (QI) and traditional research, and outlines each phase of the learning cycle. Through expert research and interactive engagement, Introduction to Learning Health Systems (LHS) is the first stop on an LHS journey toward improving healthcare practice and patient outcomes.
