What is this offering?
The MICHR K12 is a mentored career development program designed to provide protected time for scientists to focus on conducting translational research. We want to receive applications from individuals from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in their fields. The types of science proposed in these awards are broad, as MICHR is not discipline or field-specific. We are also interested in applications that focus on health disparities, community-engaged research, or research across the lifespan.
The new MICHR K12 is a two-year award that provides protected research time, mentorship, and competency-based career development for translational scholars with a doctoral degree in a clinical or health focus.
Awardees will receive career development training in addition to concierge-level support as they connect with the vast U-M resources.
Persons ready to prepare their own independent K are too senior for this new program. Eligible applicants can be from any U-M campus (Ann Arbor, Flint, Dearborn). Funding must be used within two years.
